Solvento was founded in 2021 by Jaime Tabachnik, Pedro Bosch and Guillermo Bosch. A fun fact is that their families were business rivals, as both their fathers built large electrical material distribution businesses. Jaime met the Bosch brothers at the university while studying engineering and they became close friends.
Pedro and Guillermo founded a payroll lending company in 2017, with the vision of providing Mexican workers with access to loans with better conditions than traditional banking. After a few years, they developed a platform that allowed companies to offer their employees a cash advance on their earned wages at any time the needed.
Jaime spent 6 years as Supply Chain Director at Tamex and then became the CEO of BIIS Logistics, an intra mexico digital on-the-road freight broker. Here he got close to hundreds of trucking companies and understood how painful and complicated it is was for them to collect their invoices and access credit.
Jaime approached Pedro and Billy and they realized that they were the perfect team to solve this unaddressed and huge issue. They decided to participate in Northwestern's Venturecat startup competition (Jaime was doing an EMBA in Kellogg the moment) and they won 1st place, receiving a cash prize of US 160k. With that money, they built the first MVP and launched.
